Please write a 1-2 page essay using threat modeling to analyze online security and digital privacy issues. This is supposed to be a personalized essay so please write in the first person. The essay must contain a report containing three threat models. The description of each threat model should include the following parts:
Information asset: What do I want to protect? (e.g., password, credit card number, browsing history, purchasing history, etc.). Adversary: Who do I want to protect it from? (e.g., UW-Madison, bosses present or future, (fr)enemies, ex-es, corporations, governments, etc.). Threat: How bad are the consequences if I fail to protect my information asset from the adversary?. Risk: How likely is it that I will need to protect it? You can’t describe a threat model that has no risk (no chance to happen) at all. The three threat models you reported should be regarding three different assets and three different adversaries. An example of a threat model would be wanting to protect my game purchasing history. The information asset is: my game purchasing history on my credit card statements. The adversary: my partner or family. The threat: …? The risk: the bank could mail a hard copy to my home.
